While some folks toil away with work until well into their 60’s, there are some folks who call it quits after 50 so that they can enjoy their golden years. When early retirement comes, it’s often visiting new places that beckon, so let’s look at some cool sports for those of you who are over 50 and looking to travel alone.
Italy – Is there really anything better than enjoying a fabulous meal and a fine bottle of wine? Sure, you can get that anywhere, but the Italians seem to have a better knack for it than most. The people of Italy are very welcoming of their guests, and since the country is home to the second largest collection of people over the age of 65, you might just turn out to be the cool young one in the crowd.
Greece – If you are looking to make some new friends while you travel, you can’t do much better than Greece. There are some wonderful sights to see here, with Athens and the Greek islands being home to many of them, plus you have locals who love to have a good time with their visitors. You always feel a little bit younger when you visit a country as ancient as Greece.
Mexico – When you reach a certain age, there often comes a desire to visit places that are not just tourist traps. When you head to the Pacific Coast of Mexico, that’s exactly what you get. It’s a little quieter and slower-paced than the Caribbean coast, but there is still plenty to see and do, and all in a climate that’s a little easier to handle.
Japan – This is probably going to be a longer trip for most of you, but in heading to Japan, you will land in a place where people of a certain age are treated with a ton of respect.
